Shoes are very important to the health and development of the children of Haiti. Without shoes, their feet are exposed to the trash and garbage that litters Haiti’s streets and roads, as well as to the dangers of cuts, infection, and parasites that live in the sewer water running through the streets. Additionally Haitian children must wear shoes in order to attend school.
Through Operation Footprint you can improve the life of a Haitian child with the gift of a pair of shoes or sneakers. Several times a year, we deliver these donated shoes to children who live in Carrefour and Port-au-Prince, and whose families are desperately poor. It is such a simple thing to give a pair of shoes, yet it makes an enormous difference to a Haitian child.

To donate a pair of shoes or sneakers:
1. Send us an e-mail with your name and address contact us. We will mail you a paper footprint with a child’s name, age, and sex (you may request a preference).
2. Cut the footprint out and then go shopping. To determine the correct shoe size, place the paper footprint inside the shoe, making sure the width as well as the length is correct. 3. Before sending us the shoes, place the paper footprint in one shoe so we will know the identity of the child. If you wish, you may also fill the shoes with little gifts, such as a letter from you, socks, candy, or other small items.
4. Mail the shoes or sneakers to The Least of These, 1225 Providence Road, PMB 129, Whitinsville, MA 01588.
5. Sit back and imagine the smile on your child’s face when he or she receives that new pair of shoes.
