Weigh Anchor

Our dear friend, Clint Goddard has done it again with the release of his new book, Weigh Anchor, Leaving the Past Behind, the sequel to The Provision, A Sacrificial Love Story. Here is what people are saying:

"In both easy-read novels, The Provisions and Weigh Anchor, author Clint Goddard mixes a perfect cocktail of human character, scandal, love and romance sublimely juxtaposed against the promises of our supreme maker for surprising realistic twists and outcomes that will absolutely delight and live in the hearts of readers.  Both stories are awesome."  Beth Robbie of Churchville, VA

"I just finished reading your second book, Weigh Anchor. You did it again!  Another winner!  The people were so real...I had to convince myself, 'It's only a story.'  You had so many precious lessons on forgiveness, making right choices, real love, commitment, relationships and so much more."  Jane Smith of Columbia, SC

Remember Haiti in Prayer

The Haitian people have never suffered as much as they are right now.  An earthquake that left hundreds of thousands of people dead, thousands maimed and injured, millions left homeless, thousands of children left parent-less, followed by a Cholera outbreak that is now taking thousands of lives, an election filled with corruption instead of hope.  My heart breaks with all of it.

Tyler and I check on Haiti news everyday.  Recently, he was looking at Boston.com and a photo gallery they had posted with recent photos of Haiti.  I saw a photo of a young boy crying and I asked Tyler, "Why is he crying?"  The caption read, his mom just died of Cholera and he has no dad.  I choked, literally on a pain that hit me.  Children have it so hard in Haiti.  To be a child without parents is a child at severe risk of slavery or even worse sex trading.

What can we possibly do to help what seems to be a hopeless situation?  How can we bring hope in the midst of utter despair?  I tell you the answer is prayer.  Pray for Haiti's government that new, honest leaders will rise up.  Pray for the people to have strength and courage.  Pray for adversity to be bound from the Island. Pray for hearts softened to the word of God.  Pray for God's blessing on their crops.  Pray for God's love to be expounded from one Haitian to another. Pray for a special protection for the children. Pray for organizations who are in Haiti.  Pray for organization that are a true blessing to stay and grow and for the others to wither and leave.  Pray, "Lord, what can I do?"  Pray, "Lord provide for me to do what you would have me to do."  Pray, "Lord let me see Haiti the way you do."

Haiti needs your prayers and your deeds.  You do not need to go to Haiti to help, help from your home by connecting to a good, honest Christ-centered ministry who is truly helping the people.  The small NGO's are your best bet.  Here is a list of ministries that we can truly say are there doing the work of serving God through His people.  Get to know them and see if there isn't something God would have you to do. Thank you.
